Hydro ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our app.
Hydro does not collect or store personal data on external servers owned by us.
All data you create in the app (such as hydration entries, daily goals, and settings) is stored on your device using SwiftData.
If you are a Premium subscriber, your data is additionally synced across your devices via your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service. Free users' data remains local to their device and is not synced via iCloud.
We do not have access to your iCloud data.
We use analytics and diagnostics only to improve the app experience. We do not use your data for advertising.
Hydro uses local notifications to remind you to drink water throughout the day. These notifications are scheduled and generated entirely on your device. No data is sent to external servers.
Hydro provides Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets that display your hydration progress. Widget data is shared between the app and the widget extension using a local App Group container stored on your device.
Hydro can optionally write your water intake entries to Apple Health as Dietary Water. This feature is disabled by default and can be enabled or disabled at any time in the app's Settings under "Integrations". No health data is transmitted to our servers — all data flows directly between Hydro and the Health app on your device via Apple's HealthKit framework.
If you use the Apple Watch companion app (Premium feature), your hydration data is shared between your iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This communication happens directly between your iPhone and Apple Watch and does not involve external servers. Premium subscribers also benefit from iCloud/CloudKit sync as described in Section 1.
Payments are handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We do not collect or store any payment or billing information.
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited app analytics and diagnostics data with service providers that process data on our behalf, such as Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics).
Hydro uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand product interaction (for example, app launches, screen views, reminder and hydration actions, and purchase flow events) so we can improve existing features and plan new ones.
Hydro uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and related diagnostic information to detect, prioritize, and fix stability issues.
We do not use analytics or diagnostic data for advertising targeting, and we do not sell this data.
Your data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account, protected by Apple's built-in security features including device encryption and iCloud end-to-end encryption where applicable.
Hydro does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
