Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

RoutineQuest ("we", "our", or "us") helps families manage children's routines, chores, coins, and rewards. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app.

1. Information You Add to the App

The app stores the information you choose to create, such as child profile names, avatars, routines, routine tasks, chores, rewards, coin balances, coin history, completion history, streaks, reminder settings, and parent approval settings.

If you set a parent PIN, the app stores only a SHA-256 hash of the PIN on your device. The plain PIN is not stored by the app.

2. Local Storage and iCloud Sync

RoutineQuest stores app data on your device using Apple's local storage technologies. The app also uses Apple's private CloudKit database to sync your RoutineQuest data with your own iCloud account when iCloud is available.

We do not operate our own external server for your routine, child, chore, reward, coin, or PIN data, and we do not have direct access to the data stored in your private iCloud account.

3. Analytics

RoutineQuest uses Firebase Analytics in production builds to understand app usage, improve features, and diagnose product issues. Analytics events may include non-personal usage details such as screens viewed, premium status, whether a PIN exists, routine or chore types, coin amounts, reward costs, purchase flow results, and feature-limit interactions.

Analytics events are designed not to include child names, custom task names, custom chore names, custom reward titles, PIN values, or payment information.

4. Purchases and Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card number, billing address, or other payment credentials. The app checks App Store entitlement status to unlock Premium features.

5. Reminders and Notifications

If you enable reminders, RoutineQuest asks iOS for notification permission and schedules local reminders for morning routines, chores, and evening routines. Reminder times are stored with your app data. Notifications are delivered by iOS, and you can manage permission in iOS Settings.

6. More Apps and External Links

The Parent Mode screen may load a list of our other apps from our website and may open App Store links. Those requests are handled by the relevant website, Apple, or the App Store.

7. Third-Party Services

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use RoutineQuest data for third-party advertising. Information may be processed by Apple and Firebase as described above to provide app functionality, analytics, purchases, iCloud sync, notifications, and diagnostics.

9. Children's Privacy

RoutineQuest is intended for family use with a parent or guardian. The app lets parents or guardians create child profiles and routine content. We do not knowingly ask children to provide contact information, and analytics events are designed not to include child names or custom family content.

A parent or guardian can delete profiles and app data from within the app or by deleting the app. Data synced through iCloud may also be managed through the user's Apple ID and iCloud settings.

10. Your Controls

11. Data Security

Local app data is protected by iOS device security features. iCloud sync is provided through Apple's private CloudKit infrastructure. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we use the platform security protections provided by iOS, iCloud, StoreKit, and Firebase.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. Updates will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
